Our Story.

10 years ago we started reselling returns from the so called exclusive high street retailers at discounted prices and learnt a great deal about the methods of manufacture and finishing.  Items typically retailed at several times the cost of comparable pieces we now sell. The greatest problem was how to repair damage, trying to put right 'duko' spray finishes was nigh on impossible and the prevelance of veneers both photographic foil printed, vinyl and fake veneers and even real wood veneers with mininmal depth left little room for repair if at all.

This was not scaleable as a business and once we experienced traditionally made furniture whose quality went beneath and beyond how it looked it never felt right selling 'premium' high street furniture.  It could never match the honesty and value in traditionally cabinet made furniture that has always demanded a premium.

French furniture with it's range of Louis style period charm and carved detail really leant its' self to traditional methods with complex carvings hard to replicate by CNC routers used by manufacturers supplying the high street.

We could have still gone down the road of commonplace spray painting and some french furniture retailers still do. We felt that if you are after the French period charm and character to have done so would have been a lost opportunity as furniture would have been hand finished from this period.

When you choose a 'French Furniture' piece you are buying into furniture that is both made and finished as it would have been centuries ago. French Furniture is all about the romance and charm of it's flowing lines and detailed carvings and the ambience it lends to a room.

By keeping to traditional hand made methods we ensure we have not lost any of this appeal and offer what you can not find on the high street.

By importing directly removing middlemen and operating a high turnover low margin model we offer market leading value for money.
